Overview of the Departed

The Departed, directed by master director Martin Scorcese, is an adaptation of a 2002 Hong Kong production called Internal Affairs or Wu Jian Do, Which was a smash hit in Japan. Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon reprise Andy Lau Tak-Wah's and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai's roles of cop and crook. In The Departed, gangland chief Frank Costello is played by Jack Nicholson. The new picture is set in South Boston, but shot mostly in N.Y.C. The original writer of Internal Affairs was Siu Fai Mak; this adaptation is written by William Monahan.

The all-star cast features Di Caprio, Damon, Eli Harris, Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Patrick Coppola, Alec Baldwin, and Robert Wahlberg. The producers are Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Martin Scorcese.
